  Funds for the Restoration of the Belfries
From the beginning of this year, Archpriest Canon John Sultana launched the project of funds for the Restoration of the Church belfries. For this reason, a daily collection during daily Mass has been introduced. During the weekend Masses, the Parish priest is addressing the congregation practically during every Mass in order to launch the project and encourage both the locals and the visitors to help out in the project of the greatest importance. The project is in fact of an urgent nature. Parishioners have welcomed the project since the belfries are in dire need of extensive restoration.

Commemoration of Fra Baskal
Fra Baskal Farrugia Ofm.Cap. was born in Żebbuġ Gozo on the 10th of February 1869. This year the parish and the Capuchin Province in our islands commemorates the 150 years since his birth. On Wednesday the 6th of February, children and parents and various parishioners visited the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces in Victoria and the Capuchin convent next to it where Fra Baskal spent many years of his life. Mass was said by Archpriest Can. John Sultana in the church to commemorate the event. Then on Sunday the 10th of February, Solemnity of St Paul’s Shipwreck, the Archpriest presided Mass in which he preached about Fra Baskal. Various Capuchin friars concelebrated together with Archpriest Sultana and Guardian Fr. Joe Buttigieg ofm. Cap.

Godly play
On Monday the 25th of February 2019 the children of Year 1, 2 and 3 were accompanied by their parents for their Catechism lessons. The Godly play system was used.

Ash Wednesday Liturgy
On Wednesday the 6th of March 2019, at 6.00 p.m. Archpriest Canon John Sultana presided the Ash Wednesday Mass and Liturgy during which he preached about the liturgy of the day.

Pilgrimage for Senglea
On Tuesday the 19th of March, Feast of St Joseph, Archpriest Canon John Sultana led a pilgrimage to the Senglea Basilica where the miraculous statue of Christ the Redeemer known locally as Ir-Redentur tal-Isla is revered. Later on in the evening, they paid a visit to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady (Ta’ Ġieżu) where the feast of St Joseph was being celebrated.

Pilgrimage to Ta’ Pinu
On Sunday the 24th of March, as is the tradition in our parish for the 3rd Sunday in Lent, the Lenten pilgrimage left the parish square at 3.00 pm. The Via Crucis and the Holy Rosary were recited. Mass was celebrated at 4.00 pm. Archpriest Can John Sultana presided. Fr Noel Saliba, Fr Joseph Vella and Fr Geoffrey G Attard concelebrated.

Lenten Exercises for Married Couples
From Monday the 1st of April to Thursday the 4th of April, Rev Mgr Carmelo Refalo, Archpriest of the Xagħra Parish, delivered the Lenten Exercises for married couples.
