Solemnity of All Saints
Saturday the 1st of November was the Solemn Feast of All Saints. The main Mass was at 6.00 p.m. During this day, the Church celebrates the saints who make part of the Church Triumphant in Heaven. At 4.30 p.m. there was Mass at the Cemetery Chapel. Solemn Commemoration of the Dead On Sunday the 2nd of November the Church celebrated the L-Għid tal-Imwiet or the Solemn Commemoration of the Dead. Masses were celebrated in the chapel in the cemetery at 9.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. In the afternoon, the korteo to the cemetery left the parish square at 4.00 p.m. and Mass was at 4.30 p.m. There was no evening Mass in the Parish Church. Visit to Comino The Parish Priest Can. Fr. Reuben Micallef and Fr Geoffrey G Attard accompanied the adolescents to Comino. The boat left at about 9.00 p.m. The group walked along the northern coast of the island of Comino. They came back at about 12.30 p.m. It was a sunny day. Feast of Saint Fortunatus The feast of Saint Fortunatus Martyr will take place on Sunday the 16th of November. As usual the feast takes place on the third Sunday of the month. At 3.30 p.m. Bishop Mario Grech will preside the Mass. The procession with the statue of the martyr-saint will follow. Written by: Fr. Geoffrey G. Attard. |
