First Wednesday
Wednesday the 8th of May was the first Wednesday in preparation for the Solemnity of the Assumption. It is also the commemoration of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii. The Archpriest Canon John Sultana presided the Mass. Confirmation On Sunday the 16th of June, at the 5pm Mass, Bishop Mario Grech confirmed ten adolescents from our parish. During his homily, His Lordship spoke about the importance of the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He also addressed the parents and godparents of the newly confirmed. 
 Ordination of Mgr Giovanni Cefai MSSP On Saturday the 22nd of June, feast of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, Mgr Giovanni Cefai MSSP was ordained bishop in Peru. He is the first cleric from Żebbuġ to be ordained to the episcopate and first member of the Society of St Paul to become a bishop. He will become the first Bishop for the new Territorial Prelacy of Santiago Apóstol de Huancané, in Peru. This territory forms part of the Arequipa Archdiocese. The news became public on the 3rd of April. At 5 pm, in the parish church in Żebbuġ, Archpriest Can. John Sultana showed the ordination on a screen and provided a running commentary to it during which he explained the salient moments of the ordination ceremony. 
 First Holy Communion On Sunday the 23rd of June, seven children received their first Holy Communion. The young students were accompanied by the Santa Marija Band together with their parents and catechists from the premises of the MUEUM – the place where they attend their catechism lessons – to the parish church. At 10.15 am the Archpriest presided over the Mass. After the Mass, the procession of Corpus Christi took place; members of the fraternities participated. At the end of the procession, there was Benediction.
