The 1s of November was the 65th anniversary of the dogma of the Assumption. It was Pope Pius XII
who proclaimed the dogma that the Virgin Mary, after the course of her life in this world, was assumed
into Heaven. The name of the document is Munificentissimus Deus from the first Latin words of the
document itself. The Holy Father proclaimed the dogma after having consulted with the bishops and
archbishops of the Catholic world and after studying the sensus fidelium of Catholicism.
