  Main activities leading to the Feast of Santa Marija celebrated on the 23rd of August 2015

Saturday, the 15th of August.
Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Assumed into Heaven.
At 11.00 am the Regina Angelorum Choir animates the Mass.

Wednesday, First Day of the Triduum.
At 6.30 p.m. Rosary and Bendiction.
At 7.00 p.m. Concelebration presided by Rev Canon Noel Saliba during which Rev. Simon Cachia delivers the homily.
At 8.30 pm. The Assumptafest Musical Programme will take place in the square.

Thursday, Second Day of the Triduum.
At 6.30 p.m. Rosary and Bendiction.
At 7.00 p.m. Concelebration presided by Mgr Saviour Tabone during which Rev. Simon Cachia delivers the homily.
At 8.30 p.m. a BBQ organized by the Żebbuġ Rovers Football Club takes place in the square.

Friday, Third Day of the Triduum.
At 6.30 p.m. Rosary and Bendiction.
At 7.00 p.m. Concelebration presided by the Rt Rev Mgr Tarcisius Camilleri, Vicar General of the Diocese, during which Rev. Simon Cachia delivers the homily.
At 9.30 p.m. Demonstration with the statue of Our Lady accompanied by the ‘Santa Marija’ Band and the ‘Victory’ Band of Xagħra.

Saturday the 22nd of August.
At 7.30 a.m. Solemn Mass with Te Deum at the end presided by the Vicar General Emeritus and Archdeacon of the Diocesan Cathedral Chapter Mgr Ġiovanni B. Gauci.
At 6.30 p.m. Translation of the Holy Relic of the Virgin from the chapel of the ‘Santa Marija’ Band Club and Concelebration presided by Bishop-Elect Mgr Fra George Bugeja OFM.
At 9.15 p.m. the SkyConcert will take place.

Sunday the 23rd of August, Day of the Solemnity of the Assumption.
At 9.00 a.m. Bishop Mario Grech presided over the Solemn High Mass during which the Rt Rev Mgr Laurence Sciberras delivers the homily.
At 6.30 p.m. Mgr Edward Xuereb, Parish Priest of the Għasri Parish says Mass.
At 7.30 p.m. the Procession comes out. The Hymn Alla Beata Vergine Maria Assunta in Cielo is sung. At the end of the procession, Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament follows.
