Thursday 8th August.
At 7.00 p.m. Concelebration presided by Archpriest Rev. Reuben Micallef at the Cemetery Chapel. Afterwards, procession aux flambeaux from the Cemetery to the Santa Maria Band Club where the Santa Mary Band will accompany the titular statue of the Assumption to the Parish Church. Friday 9th August. At 10.00 a.m. vocational activity for all the altar-servers and the members of the vocations group. This will take place at the Parish Centre. At 7.00 p.m. Can. Brian Mejlak Parish Priest of Ta’ Kercem and Diocesan Director for the Altar servers will preside over the Mass during which three altar-servers will be introduced into the Piccolo Clero of the parish. Saturday 10th August. At 7.00 p.m. Mass celebrated by the Parish Priest of Ghasri, Can. Dr. Edward Xuereb. During the Mass cheques will be donated for the Charity Homes of the Diocese and the Għaqda Qlub Ġenerużi tal-Parroċċa. Sunday 11th August. - A Day dedicated to the Missionary Society of St Paul. At 4.30 p.m. Fr. Mark Grima Superior General of the Society will preside over Mass. Members of the Society and benefactors are invited. Monday 12th August. A Day dedicated to disabled persons. At 6.30 p.m. Can. John Muscat will preside over Mass. The residents of Dar Arka will be invited. A meal will be provided for them afterwards. Tuesday 13th August. A Day dedicated to the Benefactors. At 7.00 p.m. Can. Ignatius Borg Parish Priest of St Laurence will lead the Mass during which prayers will be recited for the benefactors living and dead. Wednesday 14th August. A Day dedicated to the groups and associations of the parish. Can. Frankie Mallia will preside over Mass at 7.00 p.m. This will be the last Wednesday in preparation for the feast. Thursday 15th August. Solemnity of the Glorious Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At 11.00 a.m. Can. Michael Said, Parish Priest of Munxar will celebrate the ass during which the White Roses Choir will sing. Friday 16th August. A Day dedicated to Children. At 7.00 p.m. Can. Joe Zammit Archpriest of Qala will lead the Mass. All the children of the parish are invited. The collection during the Mass will go for the Fondazzjoni Jason Azzopardi. Saturday 17th August. A Day dedicated to the Family. Can. Tarcisio Camilleri will lead the Mass during which couples celebrated their wedding anniversaries will renew their marriage vows. Sunday 18th August. A Day dedicated to the Catholic Priesthood. The 33rd Anniversary of the Coronation of the Titular Altarpiece. At 11.00 a.m. Mgr. Joseph Cefai, Vicar-General of the diocese of Menevia, Wales, will celebrate Mass. It will be a Thanksgiving Mass for the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. At 6.00 p.m. the musical programme Festum Olivarum organized by the Musical Society Santa Marija will take place. Tenor Joseph Calleja of international fame will open officially the new band club of the Philharmonic Society. Bishop Mario Grech will bless the building. Monday 19th August. A Day dedicated to the locality. At 7.00 p.m. Can. Frankie Bajada, parish priest of Għajnsielem will celebrate Mass. At 8.15 p.m. the artistic and dramatic representation entitled L-Għanja tal-Parroċċa will take place in the parish square. A cast of about a 100 people will participate. Tuesday 20th August. A Day dedicated to the Sick and Elderly. At 5.00 p.m. Archpriest Emeritus Mgr. Luiġi Vella will administer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. At 7.00 p.m. Archpriest of Xewkija Mgr. Carmelo Mercieca will celebrate Mass. At 8.30 p.m. the traditional meal will take place in the square. Wednesday 21st August. A Day dedicated to the Liturgy. At 7.00 p.m Mgr. Anton Borg Vicar of St George’s Parish in Victoria will lead Mass. Mgr. Laurence Sciberras will deliver the homily. Thursday 22nd August. A Day dedicated to Emigrants. Mass will be presided by Mgr. Carmelo Refalo, Archpriest of Xagħra Parish. Mgr. Laurence Sciberras will deliver the second homily of the Triduum. Friday 23rd August. A Day dedicated to the Catholic groups. At 7.00 p.m. Mgr. Jimmy Xerri, Archpriest of the Nadur Parish will say Mass during which Mgr. Laurence Sciberras will deliver the third homily of the triduum. Saturday 24th August. At 7.00 a.m. Mgr. Ġiovanni B. Gauci Vicar General and Archdeacon of the Cathedral Chapter of the diocese will say Mass at the end of which the Te Deum will be sung. At 6.30 p.m. the Translation of the Relic will take place succeeded by Mass led by Mgr. Joseph Sultana, Archpriest of the Għarb Collegiate Parish Basilica. Sunday 25th August. At 8.45 a.m. Archpriest Can. R. Micallef will welcome the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See for the Republic of Malta Archbishop Aldo Cavalli at the main portals of the parish church. He will then proceed to say a prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. At 9.00 a.m. the Nuncio will lead the festive Mass. Members of the Cathedral Chapter will concelebrate. At 6.15 p.m. there will be Mass by Mgr. Joseph Attard, Archpriest of the Cathedral Parish Victoria. Afterwards, Vespers will be sung. The procession with the statue will begin to march at 7.30 p.m. led by Fr. Stephen Borg Ofm. Conv. Tuesday 27th August. Day of Thanksgiving.
