First Wednesday in preparation for the Feast  |

 It is an ancient tradition in our islands to prepare for the liturgical solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary assumed into Heaven by celebrating in a devotional manner the preceding fifteen Wednesdays. Wednesday the 8th of May was the first Wednesday in preparation for the Solemnity. Archpriest Canon Reuben Micallef presided over the Mass in which he preached about the importance of devotion to the Virgin Mary.
The children who were present for the Mass were given a sticker which they put on a big blue card; they will continue to be given other stickers which gradually will form a jigsaw puzzle forming the statue of the Virgin Mary revered in our parish church.
