  The Feast of the Quaranta Ore (Kwaranturi)
The Feast of the ‘Forty Hours’ known locally as Il-Kwaranturi in our parish is celebrated during the last week of the year, between Christmas and New Year. The Feast of the ‘Forty Hours’ began on Friday the 28th of December with a solemn concelebration by Archpriest Canon. Reuben Micallef at 6.00 p.m. The choirs Santa Marija and Regina Angelorum both sang during the Mass. Afterwards, the Spiritual Director Can. Carmelo Cini together with the members of the Santa Marija Musical Society of our locality led an hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.

On Saturday, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed to the faithful after the end of the 7.00 a.m. Mass. At 11.00 a.m. Mass for all the children of the parish animated by members of the MUSEUM. At 5.00 p.m. an hour of adoration led by seminarian Daniel Sultana. At 6.00 p.m. the First Solemn Mass of the Forty Hours. Fr. Joe Borg MSSP celebrates Mass and preaches. Afterwards, the Legion of Mary members lead an hour of adoration.

On Sunday 30th of December, Second Day of the ‘Forty Hours’ at 4.30 p.m. Mass by Fr. Joe Borg MSSP.

On Monday the 31st of December, Third Day of the ‘Forty Hours’, at 6.00 p.m. Mass by Fr. Joe Borg MSSP.

On Tuesday, 1st of January 2013, Solemnity of the Blessed Mother of God, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at the end of the 8.00 a.m. Mass until 4.00 p.m. when Rev. Alex Refalo leads a Concelebration at the end of the Feast of the Forty Hours. The Regina Angelorum Choir animates the Mass. Afterwards, a short procession will follow. The Forty Hours celebrations will come to their end by Solemn Eucharistic Benediction after the end of the procession.
