The first Wednesday in preparation for the liturgical solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary took place on Wednesday 5th May. Bishop Emeritus Mgr. Nikol G. Cauchi presided over the concelebration and preached about the importance of the Virgin Mary in the teaching of the Catholic Church. The Bishop encouraged the faithful present in the church to prepare themselves spiritually for the feast of the Assumption by looking at Mary and imitating her in her virtues. At the end of Mass, Archpriest Can. Reuben Micallef thanked Bishop Cauchi and urged the congregation to keep the fifteen Wednesdays to their heart by participating in all of them as they prepare for the liturgical feast of the Virgin.
